There's never a dull moment in Gus' presence. He's very alive and bright and always proudly displays a winsome smile. His movements and words are very loud and dramatic, though not to the point of being overbearing. From his witty remarks to his vibrant storytelling, Gus is a very captivating individual.

Approachable | "Hello there! 'S there anything I can help you with?"
Gus has a very friendly and welcoming look about him. He reeks of confidence and carries it in the way he speaks and presents himself. He believes that to sell yourself and be a true leader, you must have confidence in yourself before you could ever expect anyone else to follow your lead. It's very easy to get lost in a conversation with him, his confidence bleeds into his words and it seems he's always passionately into the story he's telling.

Perfectionist | "No, no, no!! The balance is off, I have to start over now!"
Refusing to sell or present a product that does not have the absolute correct balance of ingredients, Gus is an extreme perfectionist. This can slow his work down a bit, which usually ends up with him being so frustrated he pouts and walks away to cool down. His recipe has to be spot on, otherwise he will scrap it and start over.He can't be known as the guy who sells faulty ink! Because of this, he gets very focused in his work and will not take a break when he's 'in the zone'.

Independent | "I can handle myself just fine, thank you."
Gus has always been overly-independent, even from a young age. While not arrogant or resistant to having help, he does prefer to rely on himself rather than others most days. He's a strong mule who don't need nobody.

Allocentric | "Here, take my cloak. You need it more than I."
Always putting others before himself and making sure his customers, friends, herd mates or acquaintances are happy. Gus is selfless and enjoys helping people, even if he rarely gets much in return for his actions. He can often be seen tending to the less fortunate of his herd and splitting his rations with them.

Enigmatic and Whimsical | "They went that-a way! Or possibly the other way, who could be so sure?!"
Gus speaks in riddles and superlatives, making it very hard to get clear information out of him. If you ask him a question, he just may leave you with several more instead of giving you a clear answer. Outside of his work, he really has no set plan for anything. He's unpredictable and always seems full of nonsensical questions, though is very entertaining in this.

Outspoken | "It is my right to voice my opinion, and so I shall whenever the opportunity presents!"
There's absolutely nothing shy about this mule. Regardless of whether you asked for it or not, Gus will always give you his opinion on the topic. He's not rude or patronizing in his words, he simply voices his point of view and that's that.

Disorganized | "What?! This is not a mess, I know where everything is! I promise!"
Gus loses everything all the time. He has no sense of organization and seems to just work out of pure improvisation. He claims to know where everything is, but then spends 30 minutes looking for that bottle of witch hazel he swore he had underneath the work bench. It would probably do him well to get his own personal assistant to organize everything for him.

Forgetful | "Wha? I do not remember leaving this here. Hmph."
Pairing just perfectly with his lack of organizational skills, Gus never remembers much of anything. Whether it be faces of returning customers or simply trying to remember a certain recipe without opening up his books, he genuinely has the attention span of a rock. Unless he writes it down and tapes it to his face, good luck getting him to remember a deal that was made. Once again, it would probably benefit him to find an assistant of sorts.

Airy | "Come on guys, it's not that serious!"
Gus has a bad habit of not knowing when to take things seriously, aside from his work. He understands tragedy and crisis and all that fun stuff, but he copes with it far different than most do. So while everyone is sobbing over a loved ones passing, he's over here cracking jokes about the time they accidentally dyed their entire coat pink.

Hard-Headed | "I am not budging. My opinions are my own and that is final."
After years of having his opinions decided for him by his parents, Gus has become very hard headed. He won't let much of anyone change his stance on something without a good, long fight about it. He is open to receiving new information and developing his opinions based on it but he is very stubborn about what he believes is right. Of course, it should be noted that this usually only applies to when someone tries to convince him that the New Generation is a bunch of misguided fools.

-----------------------------------------------
Birth
------------------------------
Born to a couple of Old Generation commoners, Aengus did not exactly come from what you'd expect. His sire, Gilroy, and his dam, Moira, were very traditional. They had a small, close-knit wedding ceremony and lived happily for several years before deciding to try for a child. So Aengus' older brother, Alroy, was born. He was a dream child, always behaving nicely and never questioned authority. When Alroy was 9, the pair decided it was time for a second born, and in comes Aengus.

Born on a cold autumn night, with excessively large ears and a warm, dark pelt, Aengus was beautiful if not a bit gangly. Moira and Gilroy were thrilled at the new arrival, to say the very least. Alroy adored him and immediately took him in and started nurturing the small thing, the connection between all of them was instant. Moira and Gilroy had quite high expectations for the little lanky fellow, and just knew that he would grow to be every bit as amazing and as quiet-mannered as their first.

-----------------------------------------------
Childhood | 0-12 Years
------------------------------

The first few years with Aengus flew by way too fast. Much faster than they did with Alroy, though it makes sense that the second would be far less complicated. However that was not the case as Aengus began growing into his very own little mind. While his brothers mind was easy to bend and manipulate, Gus' was not. He would listen to his parents stories as they taught him the ways of the old, but he questioned it from the get-go. They grew frustrated with him, though tried to keep their patience. They knew that he was a young boy and though Alroy responded well and without question, not all children are alike. Moira was far less adamant on passing down the customs than Gilroy was. He was extremely old fashioned where Moira was more adaptable, yet still preferred the ways of her ancestors. The pair resolved it to him being too young to understand, and said that they'd continue teaching him as he gets older and can comprehend it more.

As Gus started approaching his teenage years, he became more and more inquisitive. Not in the way his parents would have liked, either. He became more interested in the new ways and was very open with his opinions. He would befriend those of the new generation and often returned to his home after a long day with even more questions. They feared he was getting far too out of hand, so Gilroy began monitoring who he was friends with. He would not let him near those misguided, godless lunatics over his dead body. Moira saw this as a bit extreme, but did not want to interfere or seem as though she was supporting his curiosity. She had already lost Alroy, who was driven away by Gilroy, and was not about to lose another.

Keeping Gus sheltered only made him ask more questions, though each question was shot down and he was told by his parents that these thoughts will go away soon.
"You're just lost.. You will find your way, and you will realize that we are only trying to protect you from those godless traitors." his father would say. This drove an irreversible wedge between Gus and his father, and he began avoiding conversations or any sort of interaction with him.

-----------------------------------------------
Teenage Years | 13-19
------------------------------
As Gus ventured into the world of being a Teenager, he grew stubborn as a, well, mule. He was leaning more and more towards the ways of the New Generation and he was not to be convinced otherwise. It did not go without effort on his parents part though. His father would not let him hang out with those he wanted to, instead he would force those who were 'pure of mind' on him, and Gus refused to befriend them. He had nothing in common with them, so why would he pretend? He had nothing against the Old Generations ways, nor did he have much against those who practiced the laws of old. He believed in Argus and he trusted his ways, he just had a different way of expressing it. He did have a problem with Gilroy though, which did add a bit of an unintentional bias against the ways of the old. He began seeing them as judgmental and stuck in their ways, incapable of change or improvement. He would not allow himself to be that way.

Due to him refusing to make friends with those who were forced on him, Gus had to find something to keep him busy. So he began harvesting flowers, berries, anything brightly colored. He would mash the berries and flowers to make colorful paints to decorate the walls and grounds with. Gilroy, though a bit skeptical of the newly developed hobby, let him continue on with it. He saw no harm in painting the ground with mushed berries, the rain would wash it all away anyways.

Though as he continued doing it, he began getting recognition for his temporary ground murals over the years. From members of The New Generation. This did not set well with his sire, not at all. He commanded that he put an end to this 'art' nonsense immediately. Gus was very passionate about his artwork though, it was an outlet. Since he had few or no friends, this was his only way of speaking without being silenced by his father. He was tired of being silenced, he was tired of being controlled. Call it teenage angst, call it a burst of insane confidence, but he blew up on Gilroy that day. He begged and pleaded that he stop trying to change him, he questioned why he could not accept his son trying to make a life for himself. The truth was, Gilroy had no answers. Not any that made sense, that is.

Gilroy backed down from his son after he stood up to him like that. He accepted his curiosity and while he didn't agree with it, he would rather tolerate his son carrying a different set of beliefs than to lose him as a whole the way he did Alroy. They slowly started building their relationship back up, but there was always going to be a cultural separation between the old and the new. Above all else, Aengus wishes to see the day that the majority of the Old Generation will realize their errors and develop with their children the way Gilroy did.

-----------------------------------------------
Adulthood | 20 - Present
------------------------------
After receiving the blessings of his sire and dam, Gus began developing his artistic abilities more. He worked up a good reputation based on his art around the town and eventually grew quite the taste for being a Maker. As much as he loved to create ground murals and whatnot, he found a lot more peace in crafting. He tampered with things such as hair dyes, body paints, little trinkets, even body jewelry. Though it took quite a bit of  trial and error, he did it and he was even more successful in this than he was doing artwork on the streets.

His favorite craft was by far hair dyes and body paints. He loved colors and believed that just a touch of color could accentuate someones entire look. Whether it be a streak of gold in the mane, a series of symbols painted on, or going all out and dying your entire body pink (pls dont try this he was made fun of for weeks), he loved the art of self expression via body art. In fact, he used to make a living painting on intricate designs per the request of those who bought dyes from him. From custom made body jewelry to mixing shades of dye to create the perfect color for his clients, he was making it well and providing for his family with ease.

However, as he paid attention to the feedback of his customers like any good maker would, he noticed a consistent pattern in the clients wishes. They wished there was a way for their art to remain on their bodies permanently. This sparked interest in the little guy, sending him into a frenzy. He wanted to see if he could create a permanent, or even semi-permanent ink that would seep into the hair follicle and stay there. So he took a bit of a hiatus from his shop, probably not a wise decision to make as he was just starting to really make a name for himself. He was determined to do this though, and he needed nothing to hold him back or distract him. Surely the idea would spread soon, and he wanted to bring life to the idea before someone else had the chance to.

It took years to perfect the formula. Through more trial and error than one could ever dream of, and many tantrums and skipped meals, he finally did it. He conjured up the perfect formula that stuck through the rain and many vigorous tests he performed, and he was ecstatic. To make absolute sure that the ink would stay, he tattooed himself. A whimsical portrait of his God, Argus, on his left shoulder. He was proud of the art to say the least, and it meant a lot to him as well. He showed his parents and a very carefully selected group of individuals to see and experience the breakthrough. After discovering that, yes, the ink stood up to even the harshest of rubbing and weathering, he was ready to go public with his creation.

Though skeptical at first, many started lining up at his shop to experience this new 'breakthrough' that is Imbued Tattoo Ink. It didn't take off very quickly, though when individuals began sporting long-lasting, smudge proof designs on their body, curiosity sparked. Before long he had a line out the door and gossip had spread across the lands of this new imbued ink trend. To this day popularity is still growing and many makers across Sirith have began asking for the recipe, or even just the ingredients. He's keeping it his secret for now, but once it gains more popularity he's promised to hand out the formula to select makers.

Today, Gus resides in Nariah and is making a living as a well known Maker. His curiosity in the romance world is lingering, but he's far too busy to be thinking of a mate or any sort of romance right now. He's usually always at his shop creating new concoctions and happily greeting curious faces.
